A Treatment Program
The Relationship Development Intervention® Program (RDI®) is a systematic family-based treatment approach that seeks to remediate the core deficits of Autism Spectrum Disorders.  RDI® is often called the "missing link" in autism treatment. Based on the latest science, the RDI® Program is a step-by-step developmental program which leads to dramatic improvements in:

  • the desire for genuine, reciprocal relationships
  • self-regulation & co-regulation with others
  • experience-sharing communication

Going far beyond the teaching of rote behaviors and social skills, fostering flexible thinking & executive functioning;

  • perspective-taking & rapid attention-shifting;
  • self-development, expansion of interests;
  • motivation for thoughtful speaking & learning.

RDI® Program Overview
The RDI®, Relationship Development Intervention, treatment program for autism spectrum disorders is a comprehensive and ongoing program of clinical development and research that began in 1996. RDI® is founded on an extensive body of scientific research based on neurotypical development and autism spectrum disorders.

The goal or RDI® is to remediate the core deficits of Autism Spectrum Disorders and give children the tools they need to live a full life in the real world. RDI® goes beyond teaching rote skills and limited social scripts. By using a unique and well-tested strategy, I attempt to help people with ASD to regain many of the instinctual behaviors that separate them from their typically developing peers. The RDI® goal – through focused, guided participation in challenging activities – increase the flexibility and complexity of neural pathways in people with ASD.

I'm also trained to administer the ADOS ( Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule ) to help diagnose individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
The ADOS has become the standard instrument for assessing Autism and PDD across age, development level and language skills.
